Media Server (read-only)

Situation: live hls multi-bitrate, livepkgr, m3u8 served on "my" website(iOS user gets on "my" page, clicks on the m3u8 link and views the live content - no problem there...)What is stopping other to use my playlist on their website and offer the same service with "my" infrastructure? Nothing?If i use protected hls - i still will be giving keys to all the viewers - both those who came through my website and also all others - so not much help there with this particular question - right?

Dear Adobe Community,I am currently working on a dynamic webstream application where multiple person can start their own streams. They are connecting to our custom AMS Application (lets say "camchat").Now I want to publish mobile ready streams as well for each stream. I got this to work while Streaming over the FMLE directly to the "livepkgr" Application but not to my own "camchat".What I am not sure about is, in what way do I have to make my custom application ("camchat") publish HLS ready streams as well?Is that possible or do I always have to use the default "livepkgr" application? If so, what is necessary to combine my application to provide streams over the livepkgr application.I hope you got my point.Thanks in advance,Patrick

I have installed adobe media server 5.0 and have been able to stream a video to both IOS and pcs, however the current frame rate and buffer size show up on the page. You are able to toggle this off by clicking on toggle metric widgets at the bottom. How can i turn this off automatically so it doesnt show on the pages please.cheersNaylin

What can I do if the stream gets a little unstable when people connect to a live stream?I have around 60 live viewers and the stream stutters for people who are already watching when other  people connect to the stream.Should I add ram or can I adjust some software settings?Thanks.

We are evaluation Adobe Media Server Started Edition. Our application has a server and client architecture,  works well in LAN, but when the client is behind the router, (like in live deployments), application is not working. I tried to connect to AMS using Live Media encoder and could see live stream - which means firewall of router is not blocking. Is there any limitation on Starter Edition in terms of Number of ports and number of times a port can be used. ?

Hi,I am having problems in connecting to 1935 port of AMS from external network. When it is in local network then there are no problems.It is only problem with external network.I am not sure what are all the configurations to be changed if I have to make external network.Your help in this regard much appreciated.Thanks and Regards,Adi

I have a custom app for a one-to-one chat (chatroulette style) and it seems that I cannot get more then 730 users although at that time I'm using 25% cpu 22% ram and about 120mbits (1 gbps available).Clean 4.5 install with no custom adjustments. My developers say that, according to the logs, I've a problem on a protocol level.I have no idea of what's happening (fmscore is active - no crashes), maybe is this the limit for a 1 gbps line? I'm using Windows 2008 R2 Web Edition, I've red somewhere that this particular version of Windows "may" have connection limits, maybe is this the reason?

Hi all!We are using AMS 5 with the Strobe Media playback. And since a while, if there are more than 2 instances of the Strobe media playback in the web page, Google Chrome will display an alert page saying that there is a potential risk of phishing from the ip adress pointing towards our AMS server. That problem occur when we are using rtmp or rtmpt protocol. Does soemeone else has the same issue? And is there a way to prevent that?Thanks in advance,Sylvain

Hi,With a NetStream object at client side we can control the stream like stop Video or Stop Audio for any receiver attached to that stream. Can it be possible to control the stream for the receiver at the server end ?thanks,Vishal Sood

I recently upgraded to 5.0.8, and I noticed instability with NetConnections.I publish streams from a flash client to AMS over rtmp/rtmpt over port 1935, 80, and 443.After I upgraded to 5.0.8, I can no longer publish streams longer than a minute. I get NetConnect.Connection.Closed errors. This doesn't happen on the 5.0.7 servers.Is this a bug, or did I miss something/something got reset during the installation?

Dear All,I am currently testing the Media server to determine if it will fit into our organisation.  I am also a complete newbie using both Flash Pro and Media Server.As part of trying to learn more about the system I did the various online tutorials and was able to get them to work on the server, with an internet browser and Flash.  I then took some of our current videos and converted them to mp4, flv & f4v, as our media is wmv.  I placed these files in a sub-folder of the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Server 5\applications\vod\media" folder.In Flash CS6 Pro I created a flash file with the FLV player (as shown in the tutorial). When I used the RTMP path "rmtp://localhost/vod" and the first file name "NewIntroduction" the video played perfectly.  I completed the exact same procedure but used the file "EffectiveStationeryCP" the video would not play in either Flash or a browser.  If I point directly to the file using the file path, the video does play.

Hi, i have a dvbs gateway that are connected to a satellite dish where it gets it signal and output the signals as a udp video (a feed string looks like this udp://224.10.10.1:6000), my question is will and can the adobe media server transcode and re-stream the udp video signals to another formart (rtmp or other formats) so that i can view them over internet.Or do i need another adobe program for doing this?

When going to <server_Ip>/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4mgetting the following page instead of stream<manifest><id>  livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent  </id><mimeType>  </mimeType><streamType>  live  </streamType><duration>  0  </duration></manifest>However works perfectly with Ios devices.

Does Adobe have any documentation on installing the Adobe Media Server onto Windows? We’ve seen this https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-media-server/install/install-media-server.html but after the installation we can’t find it.Also is there any documentation or explanation on what it exactly installs and where?  After we ran the install and checked for the rootinstall folder it was not there even though there were no errors during the install.Thank you

I have installed AMS 5 Standard on Windows 2008 64 bit, and am at a loss as to how to get the authentication add-in to install. Every avenue I have tried returns an error saying that AMS must be installed prior. Any ideas why it is not installing?
