Ok I see what's happening, your Object is already a Shape, but it's the wrong type of shape. It's a Polygon, it probably started as an Hexagon and it got the number of sides reduced to four.   Expand the Shape, then Convert it back to a Shape. Is should get converted to a Rectangle Shape.
