Thank you Team Indigo. This is brilliant and I'm sure will only get better. Two requests: 1) Please add aspect ratio options. I understand iPhone is 4:3 native, but would love to be able to compose/shoot in 3:2. (Even better if the extra pixels are saved for extra room in cropping) 2) This is probably a long shot, but if you can figure out a way to interact with Profoto's ProfotoControl app, it would be a big step towards studio quality images from the iPhone. Again, bravo and looking forward to seeing this app become more capable and refined. Far from ready to ditch my pro-level gear, but it's incredible to be able to carry just the phone and not be as constrained by previous limitations. Thank you Adobe!!

Running LR Classic 11.5 on macOS 12.6 In the Print Module, if I change the paper size to one that is less than the current size (ie: switching from 17x22 to 8.5x11) then the Cell Size will automatically adjust to the maximum Cell Size based on the currently selected Margins size. However, if I change to a larger paper size (ie: from 8.5x11 to 17x22) the Cell Size does not automatically expand to the full available size Is there a way to have the Cell Size always default to the maximum available based on the current Paper Size and Margins?

Is there a way to quickly/easily view an entire image that has been cropped or is partially hidden behind other objects? I know I can right-click and Edit Original to open the image in an editor, but I'm looking for a quick solution that reveals the entire image in place. Thank you.

I used to be able to access a popup menu while editing a text box that would allow me to select a paragraph style from a list (as opposed to opening the Paragraph Style panel and clicking on the style there). This popup was really helpful for quickly applying styles. How can I envoke the popup? Was this feature removed? I cant find any reference to this in the documentation or list of keyboard shortcuts.

Hi, I'm finally getting around to moving my old Aperture library (~150,000 images) into Lightroom Classic and need a bit of advice regarding file management. Here is my scenario: - All of my images (from my current LR catalog and my Aperture library) were in a PHOTO_MASTERS folder, which is organzied by Year/Month (2021/01, 2021/02, etc) - Over 15 years or so, there are other "extra" files in the PHOTOS_MASTERS folder that are NOT part of my current LR Catalog, nor part of my Aperture Library. - I consolidated all the masters from my Aperture Library into Aperture, so they are no longer in the PHOTO_MASTERS folder - Now in my PHOTO_MASTERS folder I have all the images from my LR Catalog, AND the extra images that are not in my LR Catalog. - I want to separate these two groups of files so that I can review the extra images and decided what to do with them. How can I separate the files that are part of my LR catalog from the remaining "extra" files? I've reviewed all the options available in LR, but seems they are only useful for finding missing files, not extras. Thank you...

I understand that in the Library Module I can use Photos>Auto Advance to have LR automatically move to the next image after rating/rejecting an image. However I would also like to be able to Auto Advance in the Import Module when selecting which images to import. Is this possible?

I'm on Mac, running latest versions of Acrobat Pro DC and macOS. My workflow requires that I read thru a large number of PDFs, but I often come across documents that are not searchable. I know how to open them in Acrobat, select the Enhance Scans, then Recognize Text, then set options, etc. I'd like to find a way to be able to do this more quickly/easier. Is there a way to create a Service or Action that would perform this task? Is there a one-click solution within Acrobat Pro DC? Thank you.

I'm on the road, generating tons of new large RAW files, and need to free up space on my MacBookPro's hard drive. There are many threads in the forum about using LR + Dropbox, but mostly for the purpose of sharing a LR Catalog between multiple computers. I'd like to be able to store my entire Lightroom folder (Catalog, Previews, and Masters (RAW files)) in Dropbox, not for the purpose of being able to share the catalog from multiple computers, but for the following: A) To have an online backup in addition to my portable external backup (I also use CrashPlan, but it is much slower to upload than Dropbox) B) To be able to use Dropbox's Selective Sync feature to uncheck the folders of Masters that I don't need access to while on the road (I trust Dropbox more than the safety of my own computer when traveling.) Some questions: 1) I've read about potential problems storing the Catalog on Dropbox if It is not allowed to sync fully before closing the computer. Do these concerns only apply to situations when one is trying to access the catalog from another computer (in which case it makes total sense that one would need to wait for a full sync) 2) Are there any other potential issues with storing the Catalog, Previews, or Masters in a Dropbox folder? Hi, I'm laying out a book where I have hundreds of captions, coming from a Word file. I'd like to be able to create linked text boxes, and then flow the entire caption file into them. (I will likely use the WordsFlow plugin so that I can update the text if needed WordsFlow » Em Software ) My question is how to tell InDesign where to break the text, so that each caption is placed in the specific (linked) text box (and does not flow into the previous/next frame) I can place a marker (ie: ###) at the beginning of each caption if needed. I understand that this not how linked boxes usually work, and that they are designed to reflow the text as they change size, but I'm looking for a way to force the text to stay within a specific box. I know I can do this manually, by adjusting each text box so it just displays the desired text, but as I need to be able to update them, one small change would cause them all to reflow. Grateful for any and all help. Thank you.

Are you asking how to assign paragraph tags through object styles? You can set that up in Object Styles > Paragraph Styles but it does not work with threaded text frames. It only works with single, unthreaded text frames. So what I'm trying to do may not be possible? (I am NOT trying to alternate White-Black-White-Black..)

Hi... Using InDesign 2018 on a Mac I've got standard body text defined by a Paragraph Style (Body), and another style when the text needs to be in white over a black background (Body-WhiteOverBlack). Both styles work fine when applied normally. However I want to apply the (Body-BlackOverWhite) style dynamically to threaded text boxes which are on a black background, so that whatever text showing up there automatically has that Paragraph Style applied. I created an Object Style (ThreadedTextBox-WhiteOverBlack) and defined the Paragraph Style as (Body-BlackOverWhite), however it does NOT automatically updated. I tried Apply Style, Clear Attributes, but that did not work. I am able to select the text manually and apply the (Body-BlackOverWhite) paragraph style, but would like for it to update automatically as the text will flow back and forth as a refine my layout. To be clear, this would mean that the part of the paragraph on one page may be black-over-paper, and the other half of the paragraph would be white-over-black-background. I thought to try creating a Character Style rather than a Paragraph Style, but dont see any way to apply a Character Style to a Object Text Frame Style. Suggestions? Am I missing something obvious? (would hardly be the first time 🙂 . Thank you....

Re: Adding spacing after a paragraph? Rob, Thank you for this link. What you’re missing is the obvious. Set the baseline grid to exactly the same as the body text leading. If you don’t want to try these suggestions, I would have to respectfully ask “why are you here?” Bob, thank you also. Of course I will try these suggestions. This issue is fixed in the beta builds. Like many here, I depend on InDesign stability to get my work done. Playing with a beta build is not a solution as this can easily corrupt a file. Please release a fix for this longstanding bug !!!!!!

Have you tried simply trashing the idea of a fractional baseline grid and making it identical to the leading? I'm not married to anything, just want to have the most control over spacing of headers. Setting the Baseline grid to 1/2 or 1/4 of the leading was a suggestion from someone I'm working with, as a way to achive more control. If I set Baseline to equal Leading, then how can I get the fine adjustment I need in the headers? (I feel like I'm missing some basic understanding here...)

You already said it. You are having problems "correctly" aligning both headers and text just because the headers are not aligned to the baseline grid, and the text is. You can't have both and get a consistent result. Thank you Jongware, but I'm still not clear. I dont care about the Headers visually aligning to anything. I just want to be able to have maximum control over the spacing before and after each header. I had read elsewhere that one way to achieve this was to set headers to NOT align to the baseline grid. Grateful if someone can help me get my head around this.

I've read many threads here and around the net, but still having trouble with something and grateful for some help. I'm laying out a book in Graphik Medium 9pt, with 13.4pt leading The text has two header levels, and I would like to have as much control as possible to set the spacing before and after each header. The baseline grid is set to start at 0pt relative to the top margin, and on the suggestion of a designer, set to increment every 3.35pt (1/4 of the leading of 13.4pt) Body text is set to align all lines to baseline grid, and headers are set to NOT align to the baseline grid. However I am unable to get the body text to align properly after setting the headers the way I like them. Furthermore when the headers come at the beginning of the text frame, it also throws off the alignment. - Is setting the increment to 1/4 of the leading a good idea? - If not, what other options do I have to give the greatest level of control over the space before and after the headers? - I've seen some people suggest that the Text Frame options be set so that the First Baseline Offset is "Fixed" - Will this help? One final problem which is frustrating is that sometimes the text will not display in the last line of a text frame. If I extend the text frame below the margin, the text appears, and looks like it is sitting correcly above the margin, but when I close it back up again, then it flows that line into the next column. Grateful for any and all suggestions.

Come on Adobe. I thought this was the point of moving everything to Creative Cloud, so that Adobe could easily push out updates/bug fixes without having to do a major release. Right now this is a very Buggy Cloud. Not appreciated.

Hi, I'm running the latest version of InDesign CC 2017 on a Mac with latest OS updates. I cannot get background on Presentation mode to change from Black to White or Gray using the standard W or G keys. Have tried trashing the prefs file and resetting InDesign by starting the app with Cmd+Opt+Ctrl+Shift. This did not resolve the issue. I checked the Keyboard Set to make sure the shortcuts were still valied. Not experiencing any other issues with InDesign. Any suggestions short of deleteing the app and reinstalling? Thank you...

Hi, I find myself turning Snap to Guides on and off constantly when working on documents. ON to align to guides and grids, OFF to make micro adjustments of images, etc. I prefer to do this with the keyboard, "Cmd+Shift+;" But after a few times I loose track of what state I'm in and have to go back to the menus. Is there a way to show the status of the Snap to Guides somewhere in the interface?
