ASIO problem Mute unmute

Title: Premiere Pro 2026 + Focusrite ASIO: Mute/Unmute করার পর সমস্যা এবং Premiere পুনরায় খুললে Timeline Playback কাজ করে না

Hello Adobe Premiere Pro Team,

I am experiencing a serious and repeatable audio/playback problem in Premiere Pro 2026 when using a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 (3rd Gen) with the Focusrite ASIO driver.

The problem

Initially, Premiere Pro works normally and audio playback works correctly.

However, when I use the Mute (M) button on an audio track and then Unmute the track, the audio behavior becomes abnormal.

The important part is that the problem does not end there.

After experiencing this Mute/Unmute problem, if I close Premiere Pro completely and exit the application, then open Premiere Pro and open the same project again, the Timeline playback no longer works correctly.

When I press Play in the Timeline, the Timeline does not play normally. The project may open normally and the clips/waveforms are visible, but Timeline playback is not functioning as expected.

In other words, the sequence of events is:

1. Open Premiere Pro and project.
2. Audio playback works normally.
3. Use Mute (M) on an audio track.
4. Unmute the track.
5. Audio/Mute state becomes abnormal.
6. Continue working in the project.
7. Close Premiere Pro completely.
8. Reopen Premiere Pro and reopen the same project.
9. Timeline playback is no longer working correctly.

This makes the issue particularly serious because the problem can persist across a Premiere Pro restart/project reopen.

Very important hardware test

I have already tested the same Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd Gen on two different PCs.

I physically disconnected the Focusrite interface from my main PC and connected the same interface to another PC with essentially the same configuration.

The same problem occurred on the second PC as well.

Therefore, I do not believe this is simply a problem with one particular PC or motherboard.

ASIO vs MME test

The problem is mainly associated with:

Premiere Pro → Audio Hardware → Device Class: ASIO → Focusrite USB ASIO

When I change the Audio Hardware device class from ASIO to MME, the behavior changes and the problem does not occur in exactly the same way.

This makes me suspect a possible interaction between Premiere Pro's ASIO audio engine and the Focusrite ASIO driver.

Audio Driver: Focusrite USB ASIO
Sample Rate: 48 kHz
ASIO Buffer: 1024 samples
Premiere Pro: 2026

What I have already tested

• Same Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 on two different PCs.
• ASIO and MME modes.
• Different Premiere audio hardware settings.
• The Focusrite interface works normally outside Premiere Pro.
• The problem is reproducible with Premiere Pro's ASIO workflow.
• The problem involves Mute/Unmute and can subsequently affect Timeline playback after restarting Premiere Pro.

Expected behavior

When I mute and then unmute an audio track, the track should return to normal operation.

After closing and reopening Premiere Pro, the same project should open normally and Timeline playback should work exactly as before.

Actual behavior

After Mute/Unmute operations, the audio state can become abnormal.

After subsequently closing and reopening Premiere Pro, Timeline playback may stop working correctly, even though the project opens and the Timeline appears normal.

I would like to know whether this is a known bug in Premiere Pro 2026 involving:

• ASIO audio hardware
• Third-party USB audio interfaces
• Mute/Unmute state
• Audio engine state after restarting Premiere Pro
• Timeline playback after reopening a project

I can provide a screen recording showing the exact steps to reproduce the problem.

Please let me know if this is a known issue or if there is a recommended workaround/fix.
