This is what I have coming in a few days. Let me know any comments. I'm a hardcore Mac guy crossing to the PC world to do my video editing. New waters for me, I hope to never look back. Looking at purchasing an external drive for working in AE, PS and PR on a Retina 2012 (2,6 - 16gb ram - 512 ssd).My work is split between AE (70%), PS (20%) and PR (10%), working a lot with still images (animation). Right now, everything's done internal, cache, footage, previews, exports.Did a disk speed and then a render test with my Buffalo Ministation 1TB USB 3.0. Surprisingly (to me), it took only 15% longer for a a short sequence to render compared to my internal SSD. Isn't that strange?I did another render test of a very short sequence (40mb) and now it took one second longer  writing to the internal SSD.Below: First speed test is the Buffalo, the second internal ssd.I was looking at Samsung T3 250GB, SanDisk Extreme 500 and Crucial MX300 (in an Inateck USB 3.0 enclosure) to use for Footage, Preview and Exports.Is it true that there are stability/ heating issues when running a (500gb and above) SSD on a Macbook USB 3.0 port?Is there single-drive-non-SSD solution that anyone

I'm trying to setup my new computer and it's hard drives to be as good as they can for my use. It's an iMac i7 with 16GB RAM and 4GB graphics card (AMD Radeon M395x). My hard drives are:- internal 500GB flash drive- External 500GB SSD- External 4TB Seagate USB 3.0/Thunderbolt- External 2TB Seagate USB 3.0/Thunderbolt- I also have an internal 500GB SATA drive from my old iMac which I could take out if you think that would be useful but I'm not including itThe computer will be used primarily for Premiere Pro and After Effects. I'll also want to have my music, pictures, and word documents for school on it. I am using a workstation - Dell with xeons, twin quadros, blah, blah, loads of memory, fast disks, windows 10 x64 - using mp4 or MTS from Sony RX 10 ii or A7Rii, I get stuttering playback when using any Premiere Pro version beyond 2014 (stuttering audio also). This stuttering happens regardless of cuda or software only renderer...it is the Premiere Pro versions beyond 2014 that is at fault!   Adobe - please fix this! I am paying for this software - I want and need it to work!To describe the stuttering more precisely - when a seq is set to play in proj or source window, the cursor appears to step forward then step back, forward again, etc. However, the seq will render ok!Nevertheless, it is impossible to work through an edit when the gui is reacting as I describe

Hi:I plan to use a Titan X (Pascal) card to drive my monitors and a P40 (Pascal) or a P6000 (Pascal) Quadro for GPU acceleration. Will this configuration work or do all the GPU cards have to be identical (i.e. 2 Titan-X, 2 P6000 Quadro, etc.).Thanks.

We're planning on upgrading our almost 8 year old PC, It's good, but is being pretty slowI'd like to use Thunderbolt 3 for an external storage solution (If you've got any recomendations for that as well I'd appreciate it greatly)So far I'm planning on using an i7-6800k, Noctua NH-D15S 140mm, EVGA GTX 1070 6GB, and Samsung 960 pro 512GB (For C, apps, and working) CORSAIR AX860i 860W; With an internal raid 10 with WD Blacks (Probably 4 4TB drives).I've looked at the Asus X99-DELUXE II; but I figured I'd get all of your opinions first.Anybodys thoughts on what I've picked thus far would be much appreciated as well.Thanks! p.s. I'm on a new Mac Pro/trashcan and like a lot of people have been frustrated by the fact you can't swapout the graphics card, the optimal aim being to move away from AMD back to glorious Nvidia being a better match with Prems.. Will i get perfomance/render improvement if I add a GPU expansion box (What’s the Deal with GPU Expansion, Anyway?) via thunderbolt and throw a Nvidia card into that?Thanks Jeff

Hi, I just want to be able to do some video editing on the go, when I can't do it at home.. is it possible with the hardware configuration mentioned in title if I used proxy files and/or quarter resolution playback and the like?

I have a question...do I need to purchase a GPU that has been recommended by Adobe?  I would like to get the GeForce GTX 1070 but this card and many others that I'm interested in are not listed.  I just want to make sure I make the best choice for fast rendering and no crashes!  I currently have the Radeon R9 370 installed and with the new update of Premier 2017, it crashes all the time!  Very frustrating.  I do know this card is not recommended by Adobe.Any help?Thanks..my system:Moved to Hardware forum by mod.

Does anybody have a good recommendation for a Nvidia graphics card on an older 2009 Mac Pro?  Looking to speed up renders and exports of 4K footage primarily.I think I have it narrowed down to the Nvidia GTX 980 Ti or the GTX 970.  Are these confirmed to be supported for Premiere 2015 and my 2009 Mac Pro?I've heard that the TI is overkill though on the 2009 Mac, but don't know why exactlyAlso, I am incredibly confused on the differences between all the different types of cards within each model.  So for example, the GTX 970 has a ASUS STRIX, an MSI, EVGA, ZOTAC... I can't figure out how these are different and which one to go with.

Hello,I am looking to purchase a new laptop/portable device that I can use the Adobe applications.   I decided to center my focus on finding one that can run Premiere well, as well as After Effects (and Cinema 4D, if possible).I was personally thinking about the Surface Book (one of the i7/16GB versions).  It seems easy to transport and light.I could also go the laptop route.  I have a good deal to get a discount off a Dell computer.Which would you recommend?  If the laptop, which one would you recommend (preferably Dell).Thank all in advance for your time.- Jason

I recently bought that graphic card and I was sure it's gonna be supported by the Premiere Pro. But as it turns out it's not. I can't turn on my GPU support and further editing just can't be done due realy bad performance of premiere pro.Is there any solution to work Premiere Pro Properly or do I have to change my graphic card?

I would like to have live full screen HD playing of my HDMI output from my camera attached via the Intensity.  With the Intensity hooked up it works with their Media Express and shows me the live video feed with a midsize screen display but not full screen.   Has anyone found a way to view this live signal in Premiere?   Or any other player? I think On Location may have done this.  Not sure if Prelude can show live video??

I'm in the market for a new mobile workstation, for Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, C4D, Red Giant plug ins, and perhaps to start using Da Vinci in the future. I am also going to be working with RAW CDNG files, as well as ProRes 4444 soon, and I need something that can handle the workload. I travel a lot for work, it has to be a laptop. won't be used for anything but video/ photography work. I've put together a machine on pcspecialist.com, so if anyone had any insights on things that it is lacking, or things that I don't actually need on there, I'd  love to hear them. Hi all,I was going to get the new 15 inch Macbook Pro (2016) but was turned off by it's lack of ports. So, it's got me looking at the 2014 and 2015 models with maxed out specs.The 2015 has:AMD Radeon R9 M370X and the 2014 has:GeForce GT 750M with 2GB of GDDR5I noticed on Adobe's page only the 750 is supported.  Considering the processors are fairly similar, would I be looking at better premiere pro performance in the 2014 model?I'm upgrading from a 2013 13 inch macbook pro with integrated graphics. So, I understand I won't be looking at night and day performance changes, but I am looking for the abillity to edit 4k, because the 13 inch has trouble with that. Thanks!

Good morning,>So recently I purchased a ton of gear to get into the x99/DDR4 platform.  I have 3 GPUs from my previous build but cannot get 2 of them to work if the TBolt Card is installed.  >The LCD on the board says 95 then restarts over and over ..never going past 95.  Asus Tech support says that means there are not enough lanes to support my needs.  I am using an i7-5960x CPU.  I have 64 GB G.Skill ram.  >My previous build (Z9PE-D8 WS board) ran all 3 GPUs just fine.>The GPU's I have are the quadro 4000 + quadro K2000 + tesla C2075.  >Any thoughts as to what I can do to get this to work?  I am on Bios version 1003.  I would hate to have gone this far to be limited due to the TBoltEx card eating up tons of lanes.

Hi, Last year I built a new system for editing 1080p video using Premier Pro & Encore CS6 as follows gigabyte ga-b85m-ds3h-a intel i7-4790k 4GHz 16GB ddr3 1333MHz Corsair cx v2 500w psu Onboard Intel 5000 graphics 1GB It is not overclocked, I have tried changing it in the BIOS to 4.2 or 4.3GHz but it still stays at 4GHz, is this some weird motherboard issue? But it is actually rendering slightly slower than the older i7 we have i7-3770 3.4GHz 16GB DDR3 Nvidia GT640 2GB graphics card So the only real difference is the graphics card, but will that old graphics card really make any difference? But coming onto the main question, what graphics card should I get for the i7-4790k machine that will have the most impact without spending a fortune? Also I'm guessing it will need a new power supply as well Would we see better performance if we upgraded to CC2015? If so would that need a different graphics card? Thanks for any info or recommendations
