Different video extensions but same raw

In the Windows explorer, video with differnt extensions are placed in the same type. What is the reason?

This isn't directly related to Premiere Pro, but to clarify: in Windows Explorer, files with different video formats or extensions (like .mp4, .mov, etc.) can still be grouped under the same "Type" if Windows recognizes them all generally as video files.
