Question

I would like to be able to make a blu-ray of a video. Does anyone do that, and if so, could you recommend software and type of blu-ray burner?

I have made DVDs in the past with Adobe Premiere Elements.  I have not used the recent versions that do not provide DVD burning capability.  I would like to be able to burn a blu-ray (larger file size than DVD).  Does anyone have a software recommendation as well as blu-ray burner recommendation?  I have been researching on line, but thought someone might have some experience that might help me.  Thank you very much.

I have used Image burn for years, works great… also for general files/folders

https://www.imgburn.com/ to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay

I use ImgBurn for burning files, but video needs to be authored with authoring software before burning as a playable DVD with ImgBurn; otherwise, it would be burned as a data file.

I use TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7 to author Blu-ray discs. It works really well and i can highly recommend that software.

Blue-ray burners are hard to find today unless you want an external one. My trusy Asus BW-16D1HT (internal) gave up some weeks ago but i cannot find a new one so i took the HP-Blu-ray burner i had in my computer from 2010 and replaced the Asus BW-16D1HT instead of buying either a second hand one or the external ASUS BW-16D1X-U.

In case my previous reply did not go through, thank you very much.  I looked at the software you recommended and noticed it does not support dual layer.  Based upon that, I assume you are using 25 GB discs, which should be large enough for anything I would create.  Is that correct?  Any issues with playback on a Blu-ray player?  I have Sony Blu-ray players.  Again, thank you.

AFAIK it supports dual layer but requires a burner that can burn DL-discs. For dual layer i  always create an ISO file with Authoring Works and burn it with ImgBurn, something i did when Adobe Encore was around as well. By doing that i can manually choose the layer break. I did never burn any disc in Encore and/or in Authoring Works, i always use ImgBurn, for single layer and dual layer discs.

I have not had any issues with discs having playback issues.
