congrats. another not-ready-for-release POS from adobe. anyone else here get tired of paying huge $$ every month just to guinea pig-beta test flaky software for this company ?
i was wondering why Adobe wouldn't follow her colleague Google in their efficient workflow, there is always a beta version of Android OS for developers first.
Hello Adobe team,I'm an editor and started few weeks ago to work on a french feature film that will be fully edited on Premiere Pro (2015.3 then 2017). I'm looking for some contacts in the Adobe France commercial team to explain our project and think about a partnership / sponsoring with Adobe. Is there a way to get in touch with the right persons ?Thank you very much.NoarPS 1 : here is an old web page explaining the project (in French) : Vaurien présenté par Timecode Corp. — KissKissBankBank
DON'T UPGRADE TO CC 2017 UNTIL THEY ROLLOUT A FEW BUG FIXES.IF YOU DO, YOU RUN THE RISK OF BEING A BETA TESTER FOR ADOBE.ADOBE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR TIME LOST WHILE TRYING TO TROUBLESHOOT THEIR MISTAKES, OR YOUR DEADLINES THAT YOU HAVE TO MEET.JUST STAY AT AN OLDER VERSION FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS OR SO AND THEN CROSS YOUR FINGERS.WE ARE PRO'S THAT DEMAND PRO SOFTWARE, BUT ADOBE LIKES TO TOSS OUT HALF FINISHED RELEASES AND LET US DEAL WITH IT. DON'T BELIEVE ME? LOOK WHAT HAPPENED WITH CC2014.....BE A PRO AND DON'T UPGRADE FOR A WHILE.
IS THIS TRUE ADOBE?
WE PAY MONEY TO BE BETA TESTERS.DON'T YOU GUYS KNOW THAT?????
OH, YOU MEAN ADOBE IS HAVING US BETA TEST AGAIN????STOP RELEASING JUNK ADOBE.
I've been struggling to get more videos on a DVD. Since I'm not an expert on this. Most of my vides are about an hour long and are mostly PowerPoint slides and screen capture of programming demonstrations.I just keep wondering why DVDs I get to watch TV shows can have 4-6 hours of media when I can barely get two.Any help would be appreciated.David
(note; Cross posted in other applicable forums)Ok, that is the gist of my question, now for the clarification and reasons behind it.Imagine for a minute that there is a person who has heard of all these wonderful products and wants to work with them to possibly change careers. Now imagine this person is a noob and has only a bit of creativity, a sprinkling of imagination, and absolutely no experience whatsoever in anything resembling a professional graphic arts, media, etc career except for some dabbling around with oil paints, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, and occasionally charcoal.Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your persepctive I do work on computers so those basics are covered. So now you understand my absolute lack of knowledge.I have been checking and finally bought Production Premium thinking I may be able to express something in Flash. The problem I am having is (other than an outdated computer) what is the real difference between the two programs I asked about? The
Why Premiere is behind from Edius in profomance wise, i've both on same system. On 1080i timline the edius is more stable than ppro. Why is that? I am patroling all over the web since for 2 months to get some facts on Edius vs ppro.I've been working with ppro since 7/8 years..... Often people teased me that one day u'll going to switch to this EDIOT(edius).Frankly i dont want to don't need to. But Adobe should have to work hard to keep the legend alive.Back to my question why eduis works well than ppro?
A new plug-in for Premiere Pro has been released that uses the x264 encoder to export to H.264 and H.264 Blu-ray. I've had a chance to use it a fair bit, and the quality is excellent compared to Premiere Pro's built-in MainConcept H.264 encoder. It's also fast -- as fast as the Premiere Pro plug-in architecture will allow.Details here:x264 PRO | Adobe Creative Suite H.264 EncoderDisclaimer: As a beta tester for this plug-in, I received a license for x264 PRO as a gift. But I wouldn't announce the plug-in here if it didn't deliver it's promised quality.Jeff
Todd,You are on record stating that one of the key benefits of CC is the flexibility it gives Adobe to make updates available. Can you explain how owning or renting a license makes any difference at all to update policies? To me it looks like a BS argument, but maybe I'm wrong.I also fail to see the relevancy how point releases for Acrobat, Flash or Dreamweaver need to be aligned with AE or PR. That is exactly what Adobe did in the past, there were 'regular' but infrequent point releases for DW and FL that had no relevancy to AE or PR. How will that change in the future? What is the difference between CC7 and CC8, a version upgrade, that depends on the rental license model that can not be achieved with a perpetual license? I think the argument is somewhat akin to owning a house or renting a house. Home improvements on the exteriror are done by the owner. The difference is when these improvements are carried out. If you rent, you have to wait for the owner to decide when he starts, if you

Hello all,Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. I'd like to know if what I'm proposing has been done before, and if so what some of the examples look like.My idea is to embed clickable hotspots over a video. For example, we have a shot of a truck rolling down the highway. As it continues driving, different hotspots pop up over various parts of the truck, like axles, transmission, engines, etc. These hotspots can then be clickable, and a small tooltip/bubble pops up with a description about that part. As the video continues playing, different hotspots continue to be generated and available.I've been poking around all over the web looking for either examples or programs that enable the effect. I've found that most "interactive videos" are based around two premises: shopping from within the video and pick your own storyline. Neither of which is necessarily what I'm looking for, so I've begun thinking that this might an After Effects/Flash based affair. I can use After Effects

What are people using to encode video for HTML5? The players I have looked at want .mp4, .ogg, and .webm. Media Encoder (At least the CS5 version) doesn't do the last 2. I tried the Miro encoder, but that has no controls, and has quality issues. I'm looking for a professional solution (hopefully not crazy expensive) for OSX.
16 months after introduction of CC, I'm curious to know your feelings about the rental and bondage model of CC.Was it worth it?I know that by not going the rental route but remaining on CS6 Master Collection, I saved $ 1,500 (based on European prices) but forfeited the new 'features and bugs'. I'm glad I did not spend all that money on rent, but how about you? Did you get your money's worth from the rental? In hindsight, was it worth it? And in 3 or 5 years time, what do you think, after spending another $ 1,800 (US, 3 years) or $ 3,200 (Europe, 3 years) up to $ 3,000 (US, 5 years) or $ 5,400 (Europe, 5 years) and having to pay each month for eternity?Of course, if your boss foots the bill, you don't worry about that, but what if you need to pay the bill? Still an attractive deal?I found this diagram on the internet and that pretty much says it all:This does not take into account the possibility to BUY from MainConcept or Cineform extra plug-ins that add codecs for new camera formats n
Bit of fun for our amusement. Add to the thread by QUOTING what you consider is a lazy question from a lazy poster...Lack of hardware or system details wont usually count...and be careful about second language situations.Rule: NO discussions in the thread. Let the quote speak for itself and stand alone.Be careful it doesnt back fire on you

Would this be a fair and relevant topic for the Video lounge?I thought so because I'm sure many of you spent more time than I do in front of your screen/s doing work or trying to fix things. I wonder how many of you have this problem. I'm about 50cm from my two 19" screens, my chair is set at its lowest my eyes are level with the top 1/4 of the screen when I sit straight (This is not the best but the screens are touching the top of my desk unit so can't go any higher A mate of mine told me to put 4 bricks, one on each corner of my desk! I will have to do more than talking about it, but sometimes sharing situations brings positive results from others' experience.
Since I don't feel it would be right to take over the thread started by Steven, I start a new one. This thread is going to be dedicated to producing a movie as a result of those voluneers' joint efforts, who are members of Adobe Community. The main objective for this project is to collaboratively create final product from scratch: from defining the project scope to finally publish a movie somewhere, be it a dedicated website or just YouTube or Vimeo, as we'll define later. This main objective is not the only project's goal. It is assumed, participants will be able to work on a particular tasks so as to improve their own skills in a desired field via sharing creativity, knowledge and skills.I also hope we'll gain the Forum moderators' support so as to be able to appropriately update this original post so that others, who might arrive here later, will be able to understand at which stage the project is that time. Now let's try to define the project scope.By 15 October we reached our first m
About 2 months ago, I purchased Premiere Pro CS6 retail box version from Best Buy. With everything going to the CC, I can't get upgrades unless I join the CC. This is NOT something I want to do! I would like to know if the chroma keying and image stabilization in Sony Vegas pro 12 are just as good or similar to Premiere Pro? I already read about how to transfer the product license on the Adobe website. If I decide to make the switch, I will list my Premiere Pro on Ebay. Another reason why I may want to get Vegas Pro is because I found out about the AVCHD bug in Premiere AFTER I purchased it. It has been over a year and Adobe has still not fixed the bug. I have a feeling they will never fix the bug because of the new CC vesion. I am currently about half way through the classroom in a book from Adobe and have not yet edited any of my own videos. My video camera is a Canon Vixia HF S20 and my computer is a new Dell XPS 8500 with Core i7 and 12 GB
Hopefully, each of us has people we look up to and admire. My #1 guy in the video world that fits that bill is Tim Kolb. He has been a source of information and inspiration for me since I first started shooting video. Not only that, but he has steered business my way as well.Tim has a new blog and he is posting free title templates. He is about to release an entirely new type/style library also. He hasn't finalized a price, but my guess is that it will be inexpensive and a real no-brainer. It will likely be something that you buy just because it saves a bunch of time when you start creating titles. In any case, check out his blog site here. His older library has been available, for free, from my site for many years. You can still pick it up there. http://stevengotz.com/title_styles.html.htmlEnjoy!
