ProRes works the same wonders in Resolve as it does in Premiere Pro.

Not apologizing for Premiere at all. But I've simply never had most of the issues you say you've had. Not doubting you, just that isn't my experience.

And the Resolve UI is just ugly as a donkey's backside to me. Although Joey D'Anna has a new Insight on MixingLight about keyboard shortcuts to change panel positions and sizing that would make it less annoying.

I'll be setting those up next week back in the shop.

But I love the customization I can do with my workspaces and my Tangent Elements panel. That Elements is a Swiss Army Knife tool in Premiere, does everything from color through resizing rotation and position of graphics and text, running the Track mixer in Audio work, you name it.

In Resolve, that panel is only usable for a few, isolated color things. More than half the controls are dark/disconnected at any point in time. Andcyou cannot change any mapping.

And, given that BMD's business model is providing (almost) free software to sell their hardware, it's only understandable that they limit what another brand (Tangent) is able to control with it.

Yup. Totally understandable why they limit other hardware so much.

But then, they also make their hardware totally unusable in any other software. And therefore, totally understandable that as I can't use their hardware for other apps, I'm not going to buy any of their editing/grading tools.

    Though I've got the BMPCC4K (awesome camera) ... a couple switchers ...   😉

Enough BM hardware I've got a drawer with several Resolve Studio licenses sitting in it ...
