.mov with checkerboard background

I purchased a .mov of 3D animated curtains with a checkerboard background. I want to place this .mov over an image in Premiere but can't remove the checkerboard? Is there an simple (obvious) solution? thx

Thx for your reply. The file claimed it had an alpha channel and cost AUD$87 to download. The 4K version required a monthly subscription to download. The file was unusable because there was no alpha channel and after alerting Adobe Stock about this issue I was refunded the full amount.

You may have the preview file rather than the the full resolution file with an alpha.

For example, a preview file from a stock library might have a checkerboard rendered into the picture to show where you can place your source footage when using the full resolution file.

Check with where the file came from and ask if a full resolution version with alpha is available. The alpha might be rendered in the full resolution file (one movie file) or a separate file to be used as a matte with the full resolution file (two movie files).
