Hi,

Just a quick question that hopefully a sound tecchie can help me with.

I'm on a filming job, live event, where the hall is mic-ed up to an Allen & Heath Qu-24 mixing desk. We have three cameras, two of which will have mics in order to sync up the footage, though ultimately we need one camera to take a direct feed from the desk. I have a print-off the rear exterior, and wondered if anyone here can point me to a suitable output, whether XLR or jack?

Thank you,

DC

Make sure you have a kit of audio cables handy: XLR, Jack, mini-jack, tulips... it's your problem you need to solve, not the person providing the in-house audio. The most dependable cable for longer runs is of course XLR and most mixing desks will be able to provide you with such a line out.

Although you can connect Rode Wireless Go IIs and then use that as input on one camera, their input is Mic level instead of Line, or far more sensitive. Therefore, the input can easily run hot in terms of levels. I recently purchased two of these: https://www.movophoto.com/products/mv-rc100-line-mic-attenuator-cable-hdslr

Good thing to know about the Rode's is that they record audio inside the transmitter, regardless of an uninterrupted connection to your camera: therefore, you always have a backup, just in case.
