Question

Not worth learning or teaching this program (Premiere Rush)

I'm usually someone who walks around with rose colored glasses but this is a huge disappointment for me from Adobe. This is a Paid service/program and how far behind the free competition is nuts. I'm a teacher for a Content Creation apprenticeship and although my field of videography is processed through Premiere Pro - there is zero incentive for me to learn and teach Rush?! Instagrams editor is close to perfection for vertical content, CapCut is ranks supreme if you need more effects but both those editors are FREE. Rush I have had nothing but problems with. Glitching, cuts clips short for no reason, lack of basic features. I'm at a loss. Hoping to get some upvotes on this so that Adobe can see they are entirely missing a whole new generation of content creators and honestly most of my colleagues in my generation are hopping ship to Davinci.

I've loved Adobe honestly about 20 years but I'm beginning to think they may completely loose their stronghold in the next 5+ years if they don't start taking feedback seriously. And if they don't consider the needs of the younger generations...

Are there some specific features that you would like to see added?  It's the users have tend to have the strongest ideas for what software can and should be offering.  I know being able to reverse a clip is a popular request that could use more votes.

Last I checked, CapCut doesn't support superimposing video clips with an alpha channel, ProRes, nor sending an edit to Premiere Pro, but it does have a lot of great features if cutting for short format video for social media.  Also, Instagram's editor and CapCut pose some challenges when it comes to branded content.

For career guidance, does your school use Light Cast?

The number one hard skill that employers are looking for is Adobe Premiere Pro and Premiere Rush is a great introduction to that.  Here's what students at Santa Monica Colllege and find for evaluating career skillsets that are in demand.

Here's a screenshot in case that link does not open as expected.
