I have been experimenting with Resolve for several months.  I have the free version.  I am going to use Premiere for Video Editing and Resolve for Color Correction.

the definitive guide to davinci resolve 15 paper manual (published by Blackmagic), is worth it. Think it's about $35. Can download tutorial materials for it, and just do lessons and learn a LOT. There are some screwups in it, but googling things once in a while fills in the gaps etc. Takes a while to figure out different UI and menus etc.  But also very similar to all NLE's fundamentally.

Maybe ask around, see what others suggest.

I shot something earlier ( raw ), which you would think can't get messed up (blown out whites), but I'm such an idiot I managed to do it. So, take what I say with grain of salt.

    Good luck !

I've never been satisfied with the transfer from PP to Resolve.  It never comes out quite the way I want it.

I advise using Resolve from start to finish.  It's superior for color and audio work, and equal to Adobe's offerings for editing and effects work.

I have been using Premiere since 1991.  I am not a professional editor or colorist.  I create videos for my family, friends. schools. churches, sporting events, etc.  I find the tools in Premiere to be adequate for Editing, Color Correction and Color Grading.  I can play and edit 4k videos without any problems.  Premiere encodes the videos three times faster than Resolve.  I will continue to use Premiere not Resolve.

So...then I'm confused.  Didn't you start out by saying you wanted to use Resolve for color work?  Now you're saying PP is fine for the color work you do?

Many do that workflow. Takes a bit of practice to get the project management down so the conform process in Resolve goes smooth, but that's just trying it out before committing paid projects to it.

Especially be aware that it's better to use "Set to frame size" for scaling within Pr when going to Resolve.

When going from Premiere to Resolve, do I output AAF or Final Cut Pro XML?

Try a test project doing both. I'm away from the computer right now sorry, or I'd have a few more details.
