    you might think that having a story that wants to be a movie is a terrible thing. Its not.

    especially an unfinished one.  It doesnt matter. Its in your "head" .. its done... its just a matter of pushing it further.

    what REALLY matters... is when you have 'credits' that are slippery slithering snake like things...you just dont know how they are gonna ACT...

    for example.. this " cop out " credit as dolly grip should read " dolly grip 2nd unit ".

    over the years the credits for crew have undergone a minor "change" re: showing and giving the credits to crew.

    I'm sure you're sick of seeing a zillion names in the credits...and it is so boring and stupid most people walk out of the theatre as soon as those things start showing.  To those who work on the stupid stuff... it is often the "resume" they sorta rely on for another job in the future.  Most of this stuff is word of mouth and not 'credits'.. the getting jobs thing ...but some of it is the credits... lets admit it.. if you do something you like to have the credit.

    Unfortunately, when you are NOT working.. and want to work, this becomes an issue.

    Lately ( like the last 10 years ? ) movies shown on tv will show credits at about 120 FPS....instead of 24 FPS .. and not only do they scroll REALLY FAST so no human can read them, they also get cropped down into a little tiny "insert screen" so that the TV station can go onto advertising the next " show " that's coming up.

    They know that nobody likes to see stupid credits.  It is in our "contracts" with producers to show them, so that's why you see those little screens of credits racing by.  It fullfills the " contract ".

    Lets hope I can get my credits correct on the database cause who knows.. maybe someday I will get some.

    ITS BEER THIRTY ! YIPEE !

    thank goodness there is still enough beer in NY for me to enjoy this day.

    moving on from the credit debacle ( trying to get it up to date etc ) and the earlier movie promotion....there is something to be said for MY NAME.

    Rod ( aka Rodney ) can mean a HUGE difference in the general population's acceptance of ' the person ' or NOT.

    For example.. today a guy named Rod ( ex - governor of some U.S. State ) got slapped on the wrist for being crooked and corrupt and basically " a cheap criminal ".

    He doesn't have to ( even though he got convicted and sentenced ) go to jail for like 90 days.. which gives him plenty of time to have some fun etc before the big day arrives.

    If I was him I would let my hair down and go for it.. have some big parties !  Why not ??  Jail sucks !

    speaking of " hair " this guy has hair that resembles a beaver pelt.. and I feel sorry for all the beavers out there who have to be associated with this " human " cause their pelts look simular to what's on this guys HEAD.

    But getting back to NAMES... his name is Rod.  My name is Rodney.  Really !  But a lot of people ( including ME ) use Rod instead of Rodney sometimes... Like, " Hi , my name is Rod, do you come here often ?? "

    But here's the difference... if you google " rod bauer"  you will see a naked man with obviously questionable morals posing for other men IMO .  I mean men who like men that way....

    But if you google " rodney bauer" you will see ME !!!!!  Yes !  You will see references to a man who likes women but doesn't make a big deal out of it cause I'm kinda shy that way.....

    So names really DO MATTER !  As do hair doo' s......cause frankly if that guy goes to jail for 14 years his hair is not gonna keep that beaver pelt look for long !  He'll come out of jail with a bald head, and prison tatoos all over his body, and look like some actor from " To Hell and Back ! "

    you are gonna laugh your ass off.. this was funny...

    it looked to me that the text was down on the right ( previous still image posted ).. so I went into maya and turned on this 'grid' thing...and got this..

    sooo, to ME.. this looks like it should be LEVEL.. horizontal.. not some sorta weird illusion etc.. but really LEVEL...

    and THEN I realized ( heres the laughter part... ) my MONITOR was off level !!!!!

    time for more beer !

    hmm, but then opened in psd and used ruler and it actually IS off level.. down on right ...a few pixels...geez.. theres no end to tweaking stuff...


    Dang, that looks straight to me too! Maybe my eyes are just getting tired, or old, or both.
