Question

What do I have to do Adobe to have my software work correctly?

Isn't paying $50.00 a month enough to have software that actually works they way it should? I have made several bug reports about the mask and matte problems yet they are still there. Masks and mattes are important. The videos show the problem plain as day. CC just introduces more and more bugs. With the amount of CC users the price should have dropped to $30.00 a month. Is Adobe concerned about having a good product or are they only concerned about profits? As a CC user I am a dissatisfied with what I see from Adobe over the past few years. Please Adobe get rid of the bugs. If you have to scrap the Mercury Playback engine than please do so because it does not work (It did work with PP CS 5.5). It would be nice if Adobe could let me know if they plan on fixing all the bugs or not. If they are not going to fix the bugs I can cancel my CC subscription ASAP.

    Jim,

Adobe should have remembers of their staff read the forums and post responses. Having said that I wish Adobe would implement a better discussion forum. I would hangout here more often if they did but perhaps Adobe is trying to discourage people for using these forums.

"... perhaps Adobe is trying to Discourage people for (sic) using these forums."

On the contrary - people regularly report that Adobe "Support" personnel have encouraged them to come here for answers to their problem!

    Users come cheaper than staffers!

Regarding problem two - the apparent resizing of the matte when you rotate it - what Premiere is doing is moving the position of the  4 vertices of the diamond shape from portion at keyframe 1 to position at keyframe 2 so, for example, the left most keyframe of the diamond moves in a straight line to its position in keyframe 2. The effect (in your example) is that the shape changes as the vertices are moving in straight lines to their second keyframe position.

All four of the path points are doing the same thing - so the shape distorts.

    Meg,

They need to fix it. It should not work like that. The track matte has been an ongoing issues. Having said that the track mattes worked OK in PP CS 5.5. It would be nice if Adobe fixed the bugs.

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like what you want is a toggle that allows you to convert the mask path you've created - a collection of points, each point located temporally by their position referenced to the complete frame - into a mask shape, each point fixed in relation to the shape itself.

Sounds good to me - you might want to file a feature request:

We're just users.  We have no access to the bug database, nor to the development plans to know when any specific bug will be corrected.
