a hyperlink to an excel sheet in a PDF file doesn't work

I recived a PDF file via email from a trusted extrnal sender which contains a hyperlink to an excel sheet and when i try to click on it i get a security pop up to , I click allow but nothing happens so i tried to open the pdf file in the browser and when i click on the hyperlink it takes me to a new page with a message saying " File not found

It may have been moved, edited, or deleted.

ERR FILE NOT FOUND "
is the issue from my side or from the sender side?

Did they also send you the Excel file? Is it located in the same (relative) position to the PDF when the link was created?

No they only sent the PDF file and no I cannot confirm its location

Then of course it can't work... A better approach is to embed the other file in the PDF, and then linked to it (using a script). That way you only need to share one file, and it will work on other machines as-is (assuming it's opened in Adobe software).
