Acrobat non responsive after downloading a file.

After downloading a file, Acrobat is non-responsive. I have deleted all instances of the file that I can locate.

When attempting uninstall, I get a dialog box that reads:

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

The following aplications are using files that need to be updated by this setup. Close these applications and click Retry to continue.

(File name: Web Foundations - eBook.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC).

Five attempts on "retry" loops back to the dialog box.

Please advise.

Sounds like a process has died and is now blocking other processes depending on it. Restarting your operating system should help. If the problem reappears with certain file, the file might be defective or even malicious.
