Acrobat Reader (11/DC/9) crash on save(save as) of PDF

Hi,

We have an issue with Acrobat reader crashing while "save as " of large pdf files generated from SSRS. The issue apparently occurs

on "Save as optimized for fast web view"  as that is enabled by default and does not happen when we disable it. However it should not happen as the users are trying to Save the file after opening from our application and Adobe should ideally not Change the file while saving (Which it does by trying to optimize for fast web view). The option to disable "Save as optimized for web view" is not acceptable to end users and thus we need to have this fixed.

We did log a ticket with Microsoft for this and they have responded confirming it to be an Adobe issue. Since there is no way to log a ticket with Adobe for

free products, Please let us know how to proceed with logging a formal ticket with Adobe. response from Microsoft SSRS group :

I have confirmation from the product group that the issue is the Adobe reader.  I am advised you should open a formal case with Adobe to investigate further.

At some point, we may update the PDF render to produce a later version of PDF. However, this is not currently scheduled.  If you want, I suggest you schedule a reminder every six months to check if there is an update.

As the next update is more than 2 months away, case handling requires that I archive the case for the time being.
