Acrobat Reader crashes when moving a document from the tab to a separate instance

Hi 

 

I have 2 files open in an instance and navigate to them using the tabs. When drag one document to open it in its own instance Acrobat closes and an event logged on Windows 11. Below is the event viewer details

Same thing happens for me, as of January 5, 2025, and Acrobat says "No updates available"

So it does not appear to be related to any feature update. I hope Adobe pushes out an update to resolve this soon.

I have the same problem. As far as I can tell it is new today since Windows 11 24H2 updates in the last two days.

An inconvenient workaround is to select the tab without dragging it, then Menu...Window...New Window. This opens a new window (instance) with the desired document. The tab in the original window can then be closed.

Thank you. I am using this as the alternative to the dragging method.
