Acrobat Reader DC crash after KB4100347: Intel microcode updates

Hi, I reinstalled the acrobat reader dc software but I am experiencing problems. I disabled my AV, Sophos Home, to verify it wasn't the cause and it still crashes.

I'm running Windows 10 v 1803 build # 10.0.17134.228. I applied the latest Windows Update yesterday, KB4100347: Intel microcode updates.

The application is crashing with the following Event Log entry:
