Acrobat Reader DC keeps crashing randomly on Windows 10

my acrobat DC keeps crashing randomly, and I don't know why. I have a relatively new laptop which works absolutely fine in all other aspects. I use windows 10. I mostly use acrobat dc to view and read pdfs, and mark them, so nothing special. but it keeps crashing anyway and the only way to close it then is to restart the laptop, which is super annoying. I tried "help>repair installation" and re-installing it, but nothing helps.

what can I do?

Hi violad68682531

Try to follow below mention steps and see if Reader works without any issue:

Download and run Cleaner tool from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs , restart the computer, download and install Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Could you please let me know if you see any error message when Reader crashes?

Hi violad68682531,

Try disabling protected mode and see if Reader runs without any issue.

Launch Reader>select Edit menu>Preferences>under Security (Enhanced)>uncheck the box "Enable Protected Mode at startup" and click OK. Relaunch Reader.

Please note: Disabling Protected Mode is for troubleshooting purpose only, and not recommended, Please turn the feature back on after finishing the troubleshooting.
