Question

Acrobat Reader DC not working in Windows 10

Every time I open Reader, it crashes with the error message "Reader has stopped working". I have troubleshot the compatibility, used the "Adobe cleaner" tool and re-installed to avail. I've used Chrome when downloading. I have Windows 10, 64-bit system. I believe DC has never worked well with Windows 10, but now it does not work at all.

Solutions?

Hi,

You might have Windows 7 installed on your computer. To check which operating system is installed on the computer, you may visit the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/13443/windows-which-operating-system

Could you please try installing Reader DC from this link: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution  (choose your operating system, language, and version from the drop down options)

Thank You,

Shivam

Hi Lab_Investigator,

Assuming you are able to access Reader's menu options, could you please try checking update for Reader and see if that works:

Launch Reader>click Help menu>select Check for updates

Also, confirm the version of Reader installed on the machine?

To check the version, launch Reader>click Help>select About Adobe Acrobat Reader
