Acrobat Reader don't open some PDF file

Good morning, everyone,

I'd need your help. I have a problem with Acrobat Reader DC which can't open the compilable files and sign them.
I think it is a problem of user preferences as it is the only one that has problems.

On windows where can I find the preferences of the program about that user and then delete them?
How do I do it?

Or do you have other suggestions to give me?

I add that the program opens but then freezes and indicates 'not responding'.

Jacopo.

Hi Jacopos,

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, Acrobat Reader don't open some PDF files, correct?

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, to check the version of the application please go to Help > Click, About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

Check for any missing updates and try updating the application. Go to Help > Check for updates. For more information about the latest version available please use the link - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Try to repair installation (For Windows Only) Go to Help > Repair Installation. and check if that helps

Are the files located locally on your computer or is it on a shared network drive, try downloading the files to your computer and check . If its on a shared network please add the file and folder path to Acrobat. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat/Reader (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Add file and Add Folder Path > Click OK and Check.

For testing purpose, please try to turn off the protected view Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat/Reader (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Turn Off the Protected View and Uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click OK > Restart the application and check.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing irrespective of the result.
