Hi,

I'm having an issue with a laptop (Windows 11 24H2) that won't open Acrobat Reader. If I try and open I get the message "Failed to load core DLL".

I have tried the following steps:

- Repair - FAILED. No change in error.

- Adobe Acrobat Cleaner executed.

- Reinstall - FAILED. Upon installations i get "Applicaiton initialisation error".

- Install from Microsoft Store. FAILED. application installs but Core DLL error persists.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks,
MS

@matt_9994 that 'Failed to load core DLL' is likely a corrupt or missing Microsoft component.  Go to the official Microsoft page to download the latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable packages. You must download and install both the x86 and x64 versions, as Acrobat Reader may be a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit components. Restart your laptop and try opening Acrobat Reader again.
