Acrobat Reader icon is assigned to a docx file, so that MS Word is prevented from opening the file.

Another file with the same name and the extension pdf exists in the folder.

The docx file was generated by conversion of  the pdf file with the same name.

Hi Bernd29690251hjzi,

Sorry about the delay in response.

If the Acrobat Reader icon is assigned to a docx file, that means you have selected Acrobat Reader as a default application to open the docx files. Please check and change the docx file's default application in your machine's control panel settings.

You may also use the following steps:

- Right-click the docx file and check if MS Word is listed there. Select it.

- If not, click on Choose another application and select MS Word.

- Mark the "Always use this app to open docx files" box.

- Click on the OK button.

Now try to open the docx files.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
