Acrobat Reader is very slow when opening PDF files

I've been using Adobe Acrobat Reader for years without issues.

Recently, however, it is extremely slow to open a simple PDF file (in the region of 30 seconds)

You can close this.

I simply won't be using Adobe for .pdf files any more.

There are plenty of other options.

I'm having the same issue as well. Started after a recent Microsoft update. Seems like MS and Adobe don't want to play nice?

Are all pdfs slow to open? What is the size of the slow pdf? Check for Reader updates under the Help menu. Restart your computer, open the pdf in Reader without running other apps, is it still slow?
