Acrobat Reader update installed Microsoft Bing Rewards extension...

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

A couple of questions that would help pin this down:

• What version of Acrobat Reader were you on before and after the update? (Help menu, then About Adobe Acrobat Reader)

• Did the update run through Acrobat's own automatic updater (Help, then Check for Updates), or through Windows Update, or something else?

• In Chrome, if you go to chrome://extensions, does it show when the Bing Rewards extension was added?

Here's what I can tell from Adobe's documentation, and where it falls short of explaining what you saw:

Adobe does have an official Acrobat browser extension for Chrome, described here: https://adobe.ly/4cJKX8Q . That page covers Adobe's own PDF-related extension (the one that lets you open PDFs from Chrome in Acrobat), and it explains how to toggle it on and off.   

Separately, Adobe's Reader download page has historically included optional third-party offers (McAfee software and browser add-ons) that install if their checkboxes are not unchecked before downloading. That is documented behavior for the download page, but it applies to a manual download, not to the automatic in-app updater, and it does not reference Bing Rewards either.

Two things worth checking:

-Open Windows Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, and sort by install date to see whether the Bing Rewards extension shows up as a separate install around the same time as the Acrobat update, or whether it is not listed there at all.
-In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions and remove the Bing Rewards extension directly if you do not want it.

If you can confirm your Acrobat Reader version and whether the update went through the in-app updater, that will help us look into this further.
