Acrobat reader won't close 'something went wrong' screen on mac

Hi!

 

Ive had this issue for months now and am trying to get it resolved. I have a 'something went wrong' pop up screen that wont close, and neither will the acrobat reader app. Its completely unresponsive. I dont actually remember how this started but everything i try can't fix it and therefore i can't restart my mac so its gotten really slow. Ive tried updating my mac, which wont because the app wont close, ive tried the cleaner for adobe, which wont work because the app wont close/ quit. i can hide the screen but not quit the app. Please help.

    @charlet_ did you try 'force quiting the App?' Command Option Escape. Select Acrobat Reader to 'Force Quit' to close.

    Depending on your version of your Mac, you could hold down the 'power' key for a few seconds before it will also Force Restart the Mac. I would also Zap your PRAM on the MAC. After restarting your MAC, quickly hold down the Command  Option P and R  buttons. Let the Mac restart/chime 5-6 times before letting go. My IT tech guy once said to me you can go as much as 10 times! Never asked why, but it works sometimes!

    You can also check the status of your drives by using the Disk Utilities in the 'Applications-Utilities' folder, Disk Utility. 

    Worse case scenario, call Apple or go to an Apple store https://support.apple.com/en-ca/contact

    I encountered this issue multiple times, however, the above solution only works a few times. What works every time is spamming the off button  (the physical one on your keyboard). This will sometimes result in a purple crash screen popping up, and you lose the progress in Adobe, however, you can at least continue to use your laptop. I recommend doing a normal shutdown before this so you can save any other documents outside of Adobe. I normally spam it about 5-10 times depending on when the Mac shuts down! 🙂
