Acrobat reader XI issue with IE11 - freezes website elements and unable to open pdf
Hello,
There's a rather annoying issue with the Reader / Acrobat plugin with IE11. Half of the company have a Acrobat and half Reader, but both show the same symptoms.
There's been quite a few similar or quite similar issues on the forums, I have pretty much read through all of them that I could find and none of the options gave any help so far.
The issue is, while trying to open a pdf with Reader / Acrobat, the first one opens fine - in a new IE window with reader plugin. If another one is opened, while the previous one is still open, the 1st pdf window is replaced by the new pdf window. Now this is where the problem occurs. After this, opening a third pdf window doesnt work anymore. Not even if I close the old pdt window. Clicking the element to open the PDF does nothing, doesnt run AcroRd32 in task manager which previously opened when PDF was opened.
What it requires, is to refresh the website and then try again. This problem doesnt occur on other readers such as Foxit and the website only runs in IE, so unable to test on firefox. Problem is that Foxit is not option for the number of people having the issue.
WHat i have tried:
- IE Adobe plugin fix
- Display in browser (not option in Reader)
- DIsplay in Read mode, fast web view, background download tickboxes unchecked
- Sandbox and protected view disabaled
- IE options for "Dont save encrypted pages
- Repair / reinstall Reader
- Cannot change Regedit - company policy
Questions:
Is it possible to open every pdf in a new window somehow, as in, the old one is not replaced by a new one?
Can Reader somehow be forced to open pdf's that are opened from brower, instead of the plugin? (No, the "Display pdf in brower tickbox doesnt exists in options)
Any idea what could be causing the issue, with freezing the pdf after opening a new pdf on top of an existing one? (If I open a pdf, close the pdf-window before oepning a new one, it seems to be working till some extent)?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
