Acrobat Scan app import photos to document at wrong size.

Hi, I recently used the acrobat scan app and set the "resize document" to letter. If I directly scan a document using the app, it will be exactly 8.5x11. But for some reason, if I import a photo, it sets the size at 9.02x11.67 even though I have the resize set to 8.5x11. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I have tested it with multiple photos and it still does this.
