Acrobat will not open password protected PDF when running in native mode on M1 Silicon

When I run Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in "native OS mode" on my Macbook Pro with an M1 processor (Mac OS Big Sur 11.6) I am not able to open PDF files that are password protected. If I disable (uncheck) " Enable native OS moded for optimal performance", quit Acrobat Reader and reopen it I am able to open the password protected PDF file.

Anyone else running into this issue?
