Hello @riya_8169

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Please note that the latest version of the freeware Acrobat Reader, or Acrobat, is not compatible with the legacy operating system XP. Please see this article for more information: System requirements | Adobe Acrobat Reader.

You may try running it in compatibility mode and turned off security settings, but Adobe recommends using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader. By updating installations to the latest versions, you benefit from the latest functional enhancements and improved security measures.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri | Acrobat Community Team

After changing the compatibility mode on windows 8, it worked. I did it through the compatibility fix wizard. So far, everything is working.

I went further in the program settings.
Editing -> Settings -> Protection (advanced level) there is a disconnect item,
but you won’t get there.
To get around this, you can in the registry along the path HKLM \ Software \ policies \ adobe \ acrobat reader \ * name mashine * \ FeatureLockDown
create a DWORD called bProtectedMode and assign it 0. After that, everything should work.
