Question

“Activate PDF thumbnail preview in Windows Explorer” cannot be activated

Hello everyone,

I have a new laptop and, strangely enough, after downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader I cannot activate the above-mentioned preview window in the Adobe Acrobat Reader settings. I have already uninstalled and reactivated the program several times and also checked for updates. The latest version 25.001.20432 is installed.

Does anyone have any tips? It's really strange, on my old laptop I can simply check the box for the preview. On my new laptop this is simply not possible. Here are my laptop specifications:

Microsoft Windows 11 Home
Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100
HP OmniBook X Laptop 14-fe0xxx

Best regards!

Hi there

I hope you're doing well. Thanks for reaching out for assistance.

Could you please provide more details about what happens when you try to enable the thumbnail preview setting? Specifically, do you encounter any error messages or unusual behavior? If possible, a short video recording of the steps you're taking and the issue as it occurs would be extremely helpful for us to understand the problem better.

In the meantime, since you have the latest version of the application, I recommend trying to repair the installation. You can do this from the Help menu (Windows only). After repairing, please reboot your computer and check if the issue persists.

Hello @Amal.,

thank you for your reply! In the attachement I send you a screenshot. It is just not clickable, the field is grey and nothing happens when I try to activate it.
Thank you for your further help!

Best regards

@Amal. Unfortunately reparing the installation didn't help.
