Adobe Acrobat DC, Reader Error Message

I get an error message when starting the application for the first time only.

The message goes as the following: InitConfig. AcroPathsAlaAcrobat failed. Retun 'false'

Anyone knows what this means? The application works like intended and I don't get this message anymore, but I'd like to know why this error popped up.

I had this problem today with Reader DC, it seems to be caused by FileOpen Client, and can be ignored safely. The solution to mute this message is to create the following folder before launching Reader for the first time:

%APPDATA%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC

@AgentRev: I tested this out, but to no avail.

What worked out for me was: Remove the zero profile part in RES/Ivanti WM for Adobe Reader before logon.

When Adobe Reader is started then, the error is gone.

Hi Brianb71775479

As mentioned above, you get the error message only first time when you launch the application.

If I understand correctly, you got the message when you launched the application very first time or is it appears whenever you launch the application after closing it?

As explained above, the application runs fine and there isn't any trouble using it. So it could be a possibility it was a temporary error during launch as application path wasn't recognized.

Hi Akancha,

Thank you for your reply, the error message only shows the very first time I launch the application.

So yes it is possible it's a one time error.

Brian

Hi Brian,

Does that error message appears every time when you launch the application (like when ever you close the application after using it)

or it was at the very first launch after installation?
