Question

Adobe Acrobat Reader (64 bit) not responding

Almost every time I open a pdf (simply double clicking on file icon ) I get Message as per subject line.

These are simple pdf files.

Today to try some of the suggestions - I opened the app first went to preferences - and straight away went not-responding ....     (see pic attached) so even failing without a pdf being opened.

I'm on W11  ver  23H2

Acrobat is 24.768

Glad it worked for you @ROB_theBOSS666 also, we are investigating this issue since we don't expect this to occur again.

Thanks for your patience and time.

Thanks,

Bhawna.

This is similar to the issue I had and I don't know why. Having tried all the usual options to fix I gave up and just uninstalled Acrobat. I then downloaded a fresh copy, reinstalled and had a coffee, as it took a while to do this. Now appears to be working normally again.

Thank you Adobe for the free download option.

did you try to Disable protected mode by launching Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, clicking the Edit menu, and selecting Preferences - this worked for several of my users with same issue.

Hi @Tafflad

Thanks for reaching out to us!.

PDF files open the same way both by double clicking and opening file explicitly from Application. Can you try again and see if it still persists.

It should not happen again. In case it happens again, please write to us.

Thanks,

Bhawna.
