Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 21.001.20142 error message when attempting to digitally sign

Receiving error when attempting to digitally sign  "Acrobat has encountered a problem.  Some features may not work as expected."  This happens 95 percent of the time. The only way out is to exit Adobe and try it again.  Is anyone else running into this issue?   This is happening on multiple machines.
