Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - There was an error while reading a stream

Hi All,

When we open a PDF we keep getting the same error ' There was an error while reading a stream'

We are on version 18.011.20040

Any ideas would be appreciated?

Did they review one of your files?

Make the logo files another way and send them again, it almost certainly is the logo files. Doesn't mean the logos are wrong! Only that your logos, converted by THIS software, makes a bad PDF.

It likely is. Different software detects different errors. It might for example be a logo on a page. If the logo is bad near the end, some apps might show you almost all the logo (and so look like all of it) while others might give an error. Something to consider: does the page include anything from YOU (such as your own logo?)

Since you can't share the files with us, I suggest you share them with the operator of the site. Send them a file, tell them the error you get, and ask if they get the same error in the same version of Acrobat Reader. They need to try your files, they might for some reason be the only ones with the error.

Hi, yes there are logos on the file that have came from us however I believe its generated via the external site.

We have spoken to the operator and they are adamant that it is an issue our end as they have other people using the pdfs with no issue..

Are the files public? sounds like a problem with their PDF generator.

Hi

No they are job sign off sheets for customer stores so they are private files however if you open them on 'BlueBeam Vu' they seem to open fine with no issue so surely its not an issue with how the PDFs are being generated?
