Adobe Acrobat Reader is very slow top open PDF docs

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

Are there any specific types of files causing a delay in the opening? E.g., large file size, animated, or containing visual content? Or any file that you open with Acrobat Reader isn't opening correctly? 

Try the following step and let us know if that helps:

• Go to Acrobat> Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once (you must save all the work before restarting)

  To download the patch manually, more information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

• Navigate to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected Mode at Start-up", "Protected View," and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat [Windows only]

Note: these changes are only for testing purposes. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.
