Question

Adobe Acrobat Update Service

My goal: to ensure automatic updating of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The user does not have admin rights.
1) Does Adobe Acrobat Update Service update Adobe Acrobat Reader?
2) Where is the log of this service?
3) Where are the settings of this service?
4) How often does the service check/install updates and how to change it?

P.S.

All this concerns the latest versions of the program, not outdated ones.

Hi @michael_2658

Thanks for posting your query to Adobe. Please find my responses

1. Adoeb Acrobat Updater Service will work to update Adobe Reader. In Auto mode users will get updates applied even if they don't have admin rights.

2. Logs are created in users Temp folder which is for our consumption. Do you have any use case to access the logs?

3. The service checks for updates every 3 hours and there are no configurable settings for this service.

What is Auto Mode? How to on or off it?

Do you mean C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Temp? If yes - what <User> will be?

Hi @michael_2658

1. Auto mode is that updater is triggered and updated the App without user intervention while manual mode is when users do a Help->Check for Updates.

2. <User> is your login username on the machine.
