Adobe Acrobat will not run

Acrobat reader will not open unless I start it as the administrator.  I have tried uninstalling it and resinstalling it.  Additionally I have used the cleaner to do an uninstall and again reinstalled acrobat.  Please explain the steps necessary to fix this issue.  There is no reaction if I just double click on the Adobe icon.  I am running Windows 11.

Hi @BarryHR,

 

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your trouble with launching Acrobat.

 

Have you tried running the app in compatibility mode? To do so, right-click the app icon-> properties-> compatibility-> check the checkbox saying "Run the app in compatibility mode for"-> select Widows 8-> click Apply-> OK.

Once done, try launching the app now.

 

If this does not work:

1. Please share the app version number you are using (go to Menu-> Help-> About Acrobat Pro);

2. Please help us gather logs from your machine: https://adobe.ly/4l1gBRA. Please make sure Procmon is selected. You can upload logs using this tool and share your Unique log ID with us. 

3. Ensure that your app is updated to the latest version of Acrobat (2025.001.2043x) for the best experience. To do so, go to Menu-> Help-> Check for Updates.
