Adobe Changes All Icons to Adobe

I have a windows 7 user who didn't have adobe installed so I went and installed the lastest version of adobe 11 from the site. After the installation completed I noticed that all of the lnk files have been changed to the adobe reader icon and all other disassociated icons did the same thing. Does anyone have a fix for this. I search the internet forums and found some registry fixes that are out there already but they didn't work. I had to end up deleting the profile and recreate it.
