I have tried the cleaning tool with complete removal and reinstall and the program crashes after opening a pdf file. Can anybody help resolve this problem?

Hi,

We have released an update today that fixes the crash issue. This update will be automatically applied to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader DC. You can also open Acrobat or Reader DC and visit Help > Check for updates to make sure you are on the latest patch.

Details about the release: Acrobat Help | Release notes | Acrobat DC, Acrobat Reader DC | Update

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

-ashu

Hi, I just came across this post. My Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (15.023.20056) continuously crashes. I checked for updates but there are not any available to me. The documents are for school and are rather large (500+ pages). It constantly crashes when I try to scroll quickly or am using the highlighting option. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Thank you,

Dominic

I've had the same experience.  I try to open a document in Acrobat DC and I receive an error message saying it won't open.  I've used the cleaning tool, reinstalled and nothing seems to work.  Even when I open the application first it won't work.  I'm running Windows 10 on my PC.

Hi mikeberriochoa

Try to run application as administrator.

Right click on application icon and select "Run as Administrator". Let us know how it goes.

Could you please confirm if you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Adobe Acrobat DC.

Please also share the exact dot version of application installed.

Hi thomaso18463382,

Could you please confirm the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and OS installed on your system.

Is it crashing on opening a particular PDF?

Try to open application first and then open PDF. Check if it opens without any issues.

Regards,

Meenakshi
