Adobe DC reader not responding

Within seconds of opening a PDF the program freezes and I get a not responding message. I am running windows 7. This did work in the past without issues. I removed Air, Flash Player and Acrobat DC. I reinstalled and had the same issue. Actually did it twice with same issue. It freezes in about 2 seconds so I can hardly get to the edit menu. Any suggestions?

    I cant get my scanner to read the adobe it was working then I had to renew subscription I did and now the scanner will not read it
