Adobe Export PDF or Acrobat

Hi

Once every 3 months or so I would find it useful to convert a PDF to an Excel file so I can edit it.

I realise Acrobat DC will allow me to do this  but don't want to pay for a sledgehammer to crack an occasional nut...

Can I buy Adobe Export PDF as a stand alone program and will this allow me to do what I want. Happy to pay $2 per month if it does what I need but don't want whole suite for $12 per month.
