Hi, wondering if anyone can help, I have a document that I created in PowerPoint using Omnes font which I activated in CC, the document is in English, when I create a pdf all the text looks like this:

Ü.è·Catè·Ézßètièoðèe·Ézßèt.·Saoèñ·.CÉÉS,·iú·ao·aeyiúptž·itp.ß·a.·..è·.èat.·pi·..è·Catè·

I've ticked embed all fonts in both the powerpoint advanced>save settings and the acrobat addon settings. Would really appreciate any advise.

Thanks

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

It sounds like the issue is related to how the Omnes font is being embedded or recognized when you export the PowerPoint file to PDF.

Would you mind sharing the workflow/steps you take to create the PDF from the MS PowerPoint? A small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity.

Try creating a PDF from the Acrobat ribbon in the MS PowerPoint toolbar at the top right and see if that works.

You may also try the steps below and see if that helps.

1. Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro

2. Go to File > Save As Other > Optimized PDF

3. Select Font > and try to retain any unembed font and click OK and check if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Amal

Thanks for the reply, I am using my work laptop and don't have the ability to record a video. My process would be: Activate the particular font in Adobe fonts on Creative Cloud (An initial report was commisioned by professional designers and they used Omnes, therefore for continuity I am also trying to use same) > Create layout of document using Omnes (the text is within shapes, .ie the default text entry on rounded rectangles) > Save document > Open Acrobat Pro > Create PDF (select the saved .pptx) > Output converts text to gibberish. If I directly convert from the Acrobat ribbon in PowerPoint it results same. If I just 'save as' pdf from PowerPoint it seems fine but nowhere near as high resolution as the standard Adobe created pdf. I checked the settings to save as optimized PDF and the omnes font is embedded.

I can't upload the actual document due to regulations, but I have created a dummy document with the omnes font that also turns to foreign characters when converted attacxhed below

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Michael

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing the sample PDF file.

I have tried to create the PDF using the same via the Acrobat button present in the MS PowerPoint toolbar and the fonts in the PDF is displaying well. Would you mind checking for any pending/missing updates for Acrobat Pro and the MS Office and try updating them and see if that works.
