Adobe Licensing Application - Syntax Error

When verifying my Acrobat Pro (Windows) license, I repeatedly get the message Syntax error. Even though I log in to adobe.com, Acrobat Pro 2020 does not launch. Please, does anyone have an idea how to solve this?
