Question

Adobe PDF iFilter for 32-bit systems

We have an application where we were using Adobe Reader 11's AcroRDIF.dll for indexing and content search. As the support for this has ended, we are looking for a PDF iFilter that works for a 32-bit application. I can see that Adobe PDF iFilter is compatible with 32-bit systems, but the download link navigates to a page with nothing. Could you please help us find it?

Hi there

I hope this message finds you well.

We would like to inform you that Adobe Acrobat Reader 11 and support for 32-bit versions of Acrobat Reader on Windows have officially reached their End of Life (EOL). This means that these versions will no longer receive updates, security patches, or technical support from Adobe.

What This Means:

  1. Acrobat Reader 11:

    • Acrobat Reader 11, released in 2012, has been discontinued and will no longer receive any updates, including critical security fixes. Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat Reader DC, which offers enhanced security features, improved performance, and new tools for productivity.

    • This end of support applies to all variations of Reader 11, including any point releases and patches.

  2. 32-bit Windows Systems:

    • Acrobat Reader for 32-bit versions of Windows is no longer supported. Modern versions of Acrobat Reader DC are optimized for 64-bit systems, providing better stability, performance, and the latest features that are not available in older, 32-bit environments.

    • If you're using a 32-bit Windows operating system, we recommend upgrading to a 64-bit system to continue receiving support and benefiting from the latest improvements in Acrobat Reader.

Next Steps:

We strongly recommend users currently running these unsupported versions to upgrade to the latest Acrobat Reader DC on a 64-bit Windows operating system. The latest version offers regular updates, advanced security features, and enhanced functionality to ensure optimal performance and safety.

In the latest version of Adobe Reader, which DLL is responsible for content search and indexing, similar to ACRORDIF.dll in Adobe Reader 11?

Any updates on the above query?
