Adobe reader 10.1.4 opens then closes after a few seconds on Mac running Sierra 10.12.6.

I have looked at a few solutions others have posted but the clean up/unistall tool for this version of adobe was only for Windows.  I am unable to get to the EULA file before it crashes. It will not allow me to open any pdf file for more than a few seconds. I am not a tech savvy person.  Help!
