Adobe Reader 11.0.18 - IE freeze when open attachment

Hello,

I have a problem with IE after installation patch 11.0.18.

When I open pdf file directly form Outlook in Internet Explorer browser, it freezing without any error.

Anyone of you has the same issue after patch installation?

Reinstallation with patch 11.0.17 temporary solved problem but this is not solution. I can open files without freeze.

Could you please try the same using a different web browser with the Reader version 11.0.18 and see if you are experiencing the same problem or not?

We need to check whether its a browser specific issue or a problem with the latest patch 11.0.18.

Thank you for your response.

I checked Google Chrome and Firefox and problem didnt occurs, so it's looking that exist only in Internet Explorer 11 (in my case).

Also i found that problem is caused when i have enabled "Protected Mode" in Security Settngs in Reader options.

Additionally if i open link in browser content is displayed but on taskbar I see Reader Icon.

If I disable Protected Mode Adobe Reader didin't freeze IE browser and taskbar Icon didin't show up.

As a workaround you can disable the "Protected Mode" to see if that helps, but as per security concern we do not recommend to disable it permanently.
