Adobe Reader DC Crashes before opening

Greetings Adobe Community,

I have been running Adobe Reader DC for years on my Windows 7 computer.  Yesterday, it started crashing before opening.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, with no success.  I cannot follow any troubleshooting solutions I found on the internet because the program won't open.  The error message is as follows:

    Hello Justunein,

    We apologize for the inconvinience caused, as per the description above, the Acrobat Reader DC is crashing on Windows 7 machine, Is that correct?

    Please use the Acrobat cleaner tool to remove the Acrobat Reader DC Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  || Link: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

    Restart the computer, download and install the Acrobat from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution   || Link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    Thanks for your quick reply. I tried your suggested solution and had the same result. I still can't open Adobe Reader it is still crashing.

    Hi Justin,

    Sorry for the delay in response.

    Looking into the log you have quoted, it seems the issue is more operating system specific than application specific. Also, a similar discussion is present on Microsoft support site: Programs Crash, error: Fault module kernelbase.dll . Application - Microsoft Community

    Would you try using the application in new user profile? Let us know if that is helpful
